The key to implementing Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and the resulting process innovations into our businesses lies within the thinking of what I call Spherical Models.
“Have you ever read the book Flatland, by Edwin Abbott?” This is a question I often ask audiences. For those that haven’t, it’s a book in part about a race of two dimensional creatures. At one point in time, a three dimensional creature in their midst is able to convince one of the two dimensional creatures to rise up out of three dimensions and experience the world in an entirely new perspective.
Successfully adapting AI, Big Data and the resulting process innovations within global business strategy requires a similar change in perception. We call this change Spherical Analytics, and have written a book about it entitled “The Sherlock Syndrome”.
It’s a different way of thinking, a different way of managing perception, and it’s something we’re beginning to understand and apply in businesses across the globe.
And as we do, we’ll wonder how we ever approached global business differently.
